Therapeutic Massage

This is a great relaxation massage involving slow, soft stokes to stimulate and soothe.  Often combined with the use of essential oils and or calming sounds to promote deeper relaxation.

Usually applied to the whole body but can be tailored to certain areas as preferred.

The main aim here is to reduce stress and muscle tension while also boosting your mood and feeling of well-being.

Sports Massage

As the name suggests, this is a great option for any regular sport enthuseasts.

This type of massage involves a combination of  deep-tissue and therapeutic techniques generally applied to the whole body utilising a range of different strokes.

Sports massage can be a great preventative treatment. The benefits of regular sports massage is often seen to included:

  • improved performance,
  • lower injury risk &
  • quicker recovery.

Sports massage is often combined with assisted stretching and mobility exercises for maximum benefit.

Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Deep Tissue Massage

A deep tissue massage is typically more intense, with a greater pressure being applied through slower movements.

This is a great form of massage to help relieve  muscle tension and soreness caused by knotted fibres that are not moving freely.

Generally focussed on a specific area of the body but can be offered as a whole body treatment.

Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Cost: From £35

Trigger Point Massage

A trigger point is best described as a localised spasm or knot in the muscle fibre causing tenderness and often referred pain elsewhere.

After tracking down the trigger point from the source of pain, direct pressure is applied to aid in the release of the knot and the restoration of the movment of the muscle fibre.

Trigger point massage often includes further massage techniques to the surrounding local area or whole body.

This technique can be uncomfortable while pressure is applied to a trigger point but the benefits are often felt quite quickly.

Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Cost: From £35

Exercise & Mobility Therapy

Assisted Stretching & Mobility

Regular stretching has a wide range of benefits for both the body and the mind.

Undue muscle tension in the wrong areas can have wide ranging implications.  For example, have you ever considered your lower back pain could simply be caused by a pelvis imbalance referred from tight quadriceps pulling them out of alignment?

Stretching effectively on your own can be diffcult, both physically and mentally to stick to.  A qualified assistant can ensure you are regularly focusing in the right areas, with the right techniques to maximise the benefit.

Tailored programmes

We all know the benefits of keeping active and the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind for as long as possible.

Unfortunately for many of us it can become more challenging to remain active.  Whether that be simply through the passing of time or as a result of ill-health it can be difficult to know what to do and where to turn for support and guidance.

For the last few years I have worked with groups and individuals to tailor programmes to specific needs.  This has ranged from group activity classes within care and retirement homes to very specific cases of individuals who have undergone life altering illnesses/accidents.

My focus is on finding and implementing exercise programmes that show everyone and anyone

that they can still challenge themselves and fight to maintain control even in the most difficult of circumstances.
